and creating more church musicians along the way
Music is best learned through interactive play. We start early learners with general music classes and then move to instrumentation and a more sophisticated understanding of theory and musicianship.
Whether you are teaching your own child, or want to enrich students in general, we have years of experience to provide you with inspiring ideas you can incorporate into your life and studio plan.
I predominately play the piano and organ, as well as cantor, for the Catholic Mass at my parish on Sunday mornings. I also play for funeral masses within a 30-mile radius and service occasional weddings.
Many of us listen to music while praying. But when we play AND pray it takes our soul to another level. Play from your heart, and offer the very moment in prayer. Music can heal your soul and the souls of others.
Most students approach piano as “another thing to do” but some have used it as a catalyst to begin something of their own. It’s exciting to see and support our youth as they work to share their creations with others.
Music lessons provide a well-rounded education, fostering creativity, discipline, appreciation, and at times, teamwork.
They enhance cognitive skills by improving memory, concentration,
hand-eye coordination, and pattern recognition.
They also promote emotional expression, stress relief,
and self-confidence, while cultivating a lifelong appreciation and love for the universal language of music.
"The piano keys are black and white, but they sound like a million colors in your mind."

Lessons with Valerie are very different from lessons I had as a child. She is engaging and genuinely interested in my daughter’s goals and interests. She is very organized in her method and goes at a pace that works for my daughter.

I’ve been asking around for a good piano teacher and Valerie’s name kept coming up. I’m so glad we found her! She is an artist at heart and took joy in sharing her love for music with my sons.

Valerie plays and sings for mass at my church. I’m so happy she is teaching my children music. I hope they realize how special it is to have a musical talent and am looking forward to hearing them play at mass!

I wanted a teacher that could play the organ, and teach me how. It’s such a majestic and mysterious instrument to me. Taking lessons helps me in my technique and theory. It also helps me grow in self-confidence because I have to play in front of people.
