Music Studio
I am a wife and mother of 8 children. I have a Degree in Professional Horticulture, which is the study of plants,
and spent over 10 years as a retail floral designer, specializing in weddings. My analytical brain (left) and my artistic brain (right) found harmony in that field BUT it is also present in the piano.
In fact, I apply design principles and creative elements
from the floral industry to my music endeavors.
Piano has been with me since I was 8 years old. I started playing for Church when I was 12 and seriously teaching when I was 25. Music remains a significant part of my life. I pursue the great transcendentals
– the good, the true and the beautiful –
and am delighted to find them in many places, but especially in music.
Part of my vocation is passing along these treasures, guiding others to discover their part in creating beauty and giving them tools to make this a fruitful life.
I’m patient, encouraging and adaptable; tailoring my lessons to each student’s needs and goals. I work to inspire and ignite passion for the instrument. My ultimate goal is to render myself unnecessary. I want my students to become the catalyst for their own growth so that with a solid foundation, they can continue to pursue their musical goals and enjoy the benefits of their labors (both personally and perhaps financially). There is not a one-size-fits-all piano teacher. This is why I offer a complimentary first lesson if I’m accepting new students. Just like in spiritual directors, for those who are familiar with the practice, it’s crucial to have a teacher that you are comfortable with.

As a child, I liked playing the piano because it was something my grandmother did, and my siblings didn't do. So it felt special to me. It helped me feel connected to something timeless; something meaningful. I continued to play because I enjoyed the journey. My efforts brought about awards and made it easy for me to excel in other instruments. When I reached my mid 20’s I realized how precious my piano abilities were. I would play to calm myself after a stressful day at work. I would play to rejoice in my blessings. I would play to pour out my heart in sorrows. Playing the piano has become a part of my well-being.
The first song I played for mass was “Seek Ye First”. I was in 6th grade. It felt special because I didn’t know anyone else my age playing for church. I continued to play throughout high school and college and into the present day. I am always honored to play for funeral masses. People ask me to travel to their churches and I’m able to accommodate almost all of them. When I have time, I provide personalized music for wedding ceremonies. Around 2015 I started taking professional organ lessons. During that time I recognized an incredible shortage of Church Musicians in the area. In addition to filling sacred places with song, I seek to inspire and help others to do the same.
I play for Catholic masses (Weekends, Funerals, Weddings) and happily accommodate the residing Priest's preferences.
